iPhone SE2022 and Samsung Galaxy A53: Price and Stock Status
The iPhone SE is Apple’s cheapest new iPhone, selling for $ 429, while the Galaxy A53 is in the middle of Samsung’s much larger smartphone family for $ 449. As shown below, the $ 20 difference is probably not enough to move towards the iPhone, especially considering what you’re getting with the A53’s additional cash.
The iPhone SE went on sale earlier this month, so you can buy it from your favorite mobile operator. The Galaxy A53 is currently available for pre-order and will be available on April 1st.
IPhone SE2022 design for Samsung Galaxy A53
These two phones have two very different design goals. The iPhone SE is a reversion to the old phone style, with a thick bezel and a physical home button. However, the glass back and smooth black, white, and red color options provide a premium touch.
The Galaxy A53 looks more modern. It is a full screen design with a punched hole camera and a fairly narrow bezel around the screen. The plastic back, on the other hand, is cheaper than the iPhone. Samsung offers more color options such as black, white, peach and blue.
Another big design difference between the iPhone SE 2022 and the Galaxy A53 is size and weight. The iPhone SE has a small 4.7-inch screen, so the 5.45 x 2.65 x 0.29-inch body is easy to use with one hand and is extremely lightweight at 5 ounces. The Galaxy A53 is a 6.28 x 2.94 x 0.32 inch, 6.7 ounce, two-handed device.
IPhone SE 2022 screen for Samsung Galaxy A53
Apple keeps the iPhone SE’s LCD screen at just 4.7 inches, with a resolution slightly higher than HD quality and a basic refresh rate of 60Hz. This is surprisingly good, but it doesn’t match the screen. A53.
Samsung mobile phones feature a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with FHD resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz. It excels in every way on paper, and the only reason to choose an iPhone display is its more compact size.
iPhone SE2022 and Samsung Galaxy A53 camera
Reviewing the iPhone SE camera doesn’t take much time. There is a 12MP camera on the back and a 7MP shooter on the front. However, Apple includes many computational photo upgrades, including Smart HDR 4, Deep Fusion for more information, and Photographic Styles for finer control over the look of your photos.
The Galaxy phone has four rear sensors. There is a 64MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 5MP depth camera. These last three sensors will allow the Galaxy A53 to take wide, close-up and portrait mode photos more efficiently. Finally, there is a 32MP front camera.
Apple’s photo processing software is great, so the A53 is not guaranteed to take the best photos. However, using Samsung’s camera array is at least more versatile. In addition, only the Galaxy A53 includes a night mode.
Performance of iPhone SE 2022 compared to Samsung Galaxy A53
This is one of the areas where the iPhone SE is almost guaranteed to win. It features the A15 Bionic chipset that Apple introduced in the iPhone 13 series, which is better than the most powerful Android phones. Even with a small 4GB of RAM, you probably won’t be challenged by the Galaxy A53’s midchip.
The A53’s new Exynos 1280 Silicon is an improvement over the A52’s Snapdragon 720 chip, with Samsung focusing on enhanced NPU capabilities. It comes with 6 GB of RAM, but can be increased using RAMPlus mode, which reserves storage memory space for use as spare RAM.
Three storage options are available in the OS. The default is 64GB, but you can get 128GB or 256GB. There is only one 128GB version of the A53, but there is a trick on its sleeve in the form of an optional microSD card. Inserting a card large enough can add up to 1TB of additional storage space.
Both of these phones support 5G and offer the fastest data speeds currently available. Unfortunately, the iPhone SE doesn’t have millimeter-wave support. That means you can’t get the highest speeds offered in the United States. It is not yet known what the A53 will offer in the US for 5G support.
Battery and Charging iPhone SE2022 vs Samsung Galaxy A53
The iPhone SE’s battery hasn’t been officially announced, but it seems to be much smaller than the Galaxy A53’s 5,000mAh. Apple is good at moving phones efficiently, so you have to wait for a full battery life comparison before declaring a winner.
When it comes to charging, the iPhone SE can charge up to 20W and up to 61% in 30 minutes. The Galaxy A53 can charge slightly faster at 25W, but due to its large battery, it only reaches 50% in 30 minutes.
Software iPhone SE2022 and Samsung Galaxy A53
Not surprisingly, the iPhone SE runs on iOS 15, the latest version of Apple’s mobile software. Galaxy runs Android 12 on Samsung’s One UI 4.
Both operating systems have a variety of similar and unique features, but the most important thing to consider is the time to get software support. Samsung promises a four-year OS update for the A53, followed by a one-year security update. This is pretty generous for Android phones.
Apple hasn’t confirmed how long it will support the iPhone SE, but it won’t last longer than Samsung, given that it currently supports the iPhone for an average of five years or more before stopping the update.
Outlook for iPhone SE2022 and Samsung Galaxy A53
It’s impossible to make a definitive decision without reviewing the Galaxy A53, but Samsung seems to offer a much better value proposition than the iPhone SE in terms of hardware. Get a bigger screen, battery, storage, and even more cameras for just $ 20 more than the iPhone SE.
However, the iPhone SE still has a chance to win this comparison. Its small frame and iOS-specific features can appeal to some users and can be more powerful in two phones. Also, although it has fewer cameras than the Galaxy, Apple’s photos are still good enough to win the overall photo showdown.
Stay tuned for a complete review and update on this showdown.
